Biden's student loan handout: Admin desperate to avoid legal challenges

In late August, the Biden administration announced its intent to cancel an estimated $500 billion in student debt held by more than 40 million borrowers. President Biden previously expressed doubts about his authority to take this very action.

Nevertheless, Biden and his Education Department located a previously untapped source of purported authority—the HEROES Act of 2003. This law, passed in the early days of the Iraq War, was meant to temporarily freeze student loans held by service members and their families during times of war or national emergency.

Now the Biden administration has stretched the meaning of "emergency" beyond recognition and attempted an end-run around Congress.

In the ordinary course, following a presidential announcement of a new policy or program, the executive agency charged with carrying out the president’s wishes would engage in the rulemaking process mandated by Congress. This includes providing notice of the draft rule, giving the public time to comment on it, addressing concerns raised by public comments that sometimes require changes to the proposed rule, and, finally, publishing a final rule that binds the public.

STUDENT LOAN RELIEF APPLICATIONS ARRIVING SOON: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

This student loan forgiveness plan, however, is anything but ordinary.

Instead of following the usual course, the administration issued a handful of press releases, a fact sheet, and two memos offering pretextual legal justifications. These constitute the entirety of publicly available information.

Despite assurances from the administration to Congress and the public that automatic cancellations would begin for eight million borrowers in early October, no draft rule has been released.

Compounding this disregard of the normal rulemaking process is the series of arbitrary changes the administration has made on the fly in response to legal challenges.

Pacific Legal Foundation (where we work) filed suit on behalf of Frank Garrison, an attorney enrolled in a preexisting loan forgiveness program that Congress created. Garrison faced a hefty state tax bill if his loans were automatically canceled under the new program.

Responding to a reporter’s question during a briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre replied that borrowers such as Garrison simply could "opt out" of the program, even though the Education Department website said otherwise.

The website was changed that same day to fit the press secretary’s claim. A federal district judge then denied Garrison’s initial motion for a temporary restraining order but made the government pinky swear not to begin cancellation of debt until the challenger has an opportunity to file an amended complaint.

A group of states also filed suit and met a similar fate: the Biden administration quickly "revised" its unwritten, seemingly ephemeral plan to exempt the affected borrowers.

The administration’s actions were an obvious attempt to end both cases without having to defend the legality of its policy, doubtless because the loan cancellation program is blatantly unlawful.

No statute gives the president carte blanche to cancel student debts. The HEROES Act authorizes the Education Department to waive or modify student loan requirements for those residing or working in a "disaster area" related to a national emergency. This was intended to ease certain bureaucratic burdens (for example, by extending grace periods and waiving documentation requirements) for service members and their families so they would not be placed in a worse financial position because of emergencies or military operations.

That’s a far cry from the broad claim of authority to cancel half a trillion dollars in student loans. Congress doesn’t hide elephants in mouseholes, as Justice Antonin Scalia once wrote, and President Biden’s student loan forgiveness is mammoth.

This is not an isolated incident of executive overreach. It is yet another example of the executive branch unreasonably stretching modest grants of power to reach policy goals Congress never approved. The Supreme Court struck down the CDC’s eviction moratorium and OSHA’s vaccine mandate as far exceeding anything Congress authorized. Likewise, here, the Education Department cannot twist the HEROES Act to make half a trillion dollars in student debt vanish.

The Biden administration knows all of this, which is why they are doing backflips to avoid a court challenge. They should not be allowed to get away with it.

That’s why we’re amending our suit to represent every borrower facing unwanted loan cancellation coupled with state tax liability. We also argue that allowing borrowers to "opt out" is not enough to save this unwritten, ever-changing plan. So far, the Education Department has simply delayed the inevitable: judicial scrutiny of its outrageous violation of the law.

Indeed. And if this president gets away with it, other presidents will too.

Leftists mock Boebert's 'Two Words' tweet, ignore Biden's 'Made in America' gaffe

Liberal social media users inadvertently attacked President Biden’s latest gaffe by blasting Rep. Lauren Boebert’s, R-Colo., tweet on Saturday.

On Friday, Biden gave a speech at a car factory in Hagerstown, Maryland where he began with what many, including NBC’s "Saturday Night Live" saw as an embarrassing flub.

"Let me start with two words: Made in America," the president said.

Boebert poked fun at the gaffe with a tweet making her own intentional "two words" flub.

SNL’S ‘WEEKEND UPDATE’ MOCKS PRESIDENT BIDEN AFTER HE AVOIDS REPORTERS’ QUESTIONS

"Two Words: Let’s Go Brandon!" she wrote.

Although the tweet was in reference to Biden’s mistake, many progressive Twitter users appeared to believe Boebert made the mistake herself.

"But which two words, though? ‘Let’s go?’ … ‘Go Brandon?’" MSNBC host Joy Reid tweeted.

Actor George Takei wrote, "She can’t…count."

"Three words: You’re an idiot," liberal activist David Hogg tweeted.

"BREAKING: Lauren Boebert just completely humiliated herself, tweeting ‘Two Words: Let’s Go Brandon.’ That’s THREE words. She’s such a friggin’ moron!" Former Obama staffer Jon Cooper wrote.

Novelist Cole Haddon tweeted, "Dogs have a basic understanding of arithmetic, and can notice errors in simple computations such as 1+1 = 1 or 1+1 = 3."

"Is she on any kind of banking or budget committee? Because ... arithmetic," Los Angeles Times columnist Patt Morrison wrote.

TWITTER GOES NUCLEAR IN RESPONSE TO BIDEN’S ‘ARMAGEDDON’ WARNINGS

Despite backlash against Boebert’s tweet, many other conservative and liberal users pointed out that the representative’s tweet was clearly a joke about Biden.

"That leftists don’t know she’s trolling Biden’s recent gaffe further proves how perpetually removed they are from reality. They say the things they do because they literally have no idea what’s going on," conservative podcast host Allie Beth Stuckey tweeted.

Liberal journalist Aaron Rupar remarked, "this is supposed to mock a Biden gaffe. were you even aware of that? if not, congrats, you probably don't have brainworms."

"Cue the meltdown," Wood Radio host Justin Barclay wrote.

Podcast host John Ziegler joked, "This is classic… The left presumes Boebert is a moron & their leftist propaganda outlets never told them Biden just dramatically declared, ‘two words: made in America,’ so they think she said something moronic, when in actuality it was even more brilliant than she even realized!"

"Do not be surprised that Democrats do not get @laurenboebert's tweet that says ‘Two Words: Let's Go Brandon.’ They do not know she is mocking President Joe Biden last week saying ‘Two Words: Made In America’ because they only get their news from an echo chamber," conservative writer Carmine Sabia tweeted.

Boebert later responded to the backlash from her tweet, mocking her critics.

"Now imagine if they applied the same viewpoint to their guy when he did this rather than me for making a joke about him," Boebert wrote.

Biden has made several notable gaffes during his presidency, many over the past month. On Friday, he warned that the U.S. has not seen the prospect of "Armageddon" like it does now since the Cuban Missile Crisis. On Sept. 28, he appeared to look for deceased Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski in a crowd after calling her name. The White House has repeatedly defended these moments without admitting that the president in any way misspoke.

Newsom campaign places pro-abortion billboard in Austin, Texas

California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom's re-election campaign put up a billboard in Austin, Texas, promoting his state's abortion access for women.

The billboard, placed just south of Stassney Lane in South Austin, features a woman sitting with her arms crossed over her knees looking toward a pro-abortion message that reads, "Need an abortion? California is ready to help."

The advertisement also includes California's abortion resources website and a Bible verse.

"Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater commitment than these," the billboard reads, quoting Mark 12:31.

CHRISTIANS SLAM NEWSOM FOR ‘DISGUSTING’ PRO-ABORTION BILLBOARDS QUOTING JESUS: ‘SATANIC’

Similar billboards funded by Newsom's campaign have been set up in other Republican-led states with abortion restrictions, including Indiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma.

The billboard campaign is the latest Newsom advertising in Texas pushing his state's access to abortion. The California governor had ads placed in three Texas newspapers in July in which he criticized Texas GOP Gov. Greg Abbott for his stance on abortion and guns.

The newspaper ads feature a modified quote from Abbott about Senate Bill 8, which prohibits abortion in the Lone Star State after six weeks of pregnancy, to blast the Republican's response to gun violence in Texas following the school shooting in Uvalde that killed 19 students and two teachers in May.

ARIZONA DEM GOV NOMINEE KATIE HOBBS APPEARS TO SUPPORT ABORTION UP TO BIRTH

The quote from Abbott reads, "Our creator endowed us with the right to life. And yet… children lose their right to life every year because of abortion. In Texas, we work to save those lives."

The ad then shows "abortion" crossed out with "gun violence" written above it, "Texas" crossed out with "California" written above it and Abbott's name crossed out with Newsom's written below it.

Texas' abortion law, which made performing the procedure a felony except in cases to save the life of a mother, went into effect in August. The trigger law took effect when the Supreme Court issued its ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, allowing states to establish their own laws pertaining to abortion.

The law criminalizes performing an abortion from the moment of fertilization unless the woman is facing a "life-threatening physical condition aggravated by, caused by, or arising from a pregnancy."

The measure states that a woman who receives an abortion will not be prosecuted.

Violations of the law are punishable by up to life in prison. And the Attorney General shall seek a civil penalty of at least $100,000, plus attorney’s fees, according to the statute.

Elon Musk explains how to turn the Cybertruck into a boat

The S.S. Cybertruck may not be shipshape quite yet, but the electric pickup's alter ego as a boat is coming together.

Elon Musk's recent assertion that the Cybertruck "will be waterproof enough to serve briefly as a boat, so it can cross rivers, lakes & even seas that aren’t too choppy," has been met with its fair share of criticism.

Many have pointed out that numerous vehicles can float briefly, and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources warned its followers on Twitter that "Our derelict vessel crews are begging you to understand that anything that ‘serves briefly as a boat’ should not be used as a boat."

Another issue that has been raised is that, even if the Cybertruck can float, it's not clear how it would move under its own power.

ELON MUSK SAYS THE TESLA CYBERTRUCK WILL BE A ‘DAMN FINE MACHINE’

"One thing that is still uncertain is the speed the Cybertruck will be able to travel on water so the calculations might be off due to that, but I suspect it might be anywhere between 3-10 knots. @elonmusk any insight on this?" RGV Aerial Photograph tweeted with an image of the channel separating the SpaceX Starbase in Texas from South Padre Island, which Musk used as an example of a body of water the Cybertruck could be used to cross to save the time it normally takes driving around it.

"You’d need an electric propeller mounted on the tow hitch to go faster than a few knots. There might a creative wheel hub design that can generate meaningful thrust," Musk responded.

Musk has made similar claims about the Tesla Model S.

"We *def* don't recommended this, but Model S floats well enough to turn it into a boat for short periods of time. Thrust via wheel rotation," he tweeted in 2016.

NEW TESLA CYBERTRUCK WITH ‘SWITCHBLADE’ WINDSHIELD WIPER REVEALED

As for the propeller, while Musk said Tesla is working on a rocket pack for the upcoming Roadster sports car, no alternative propulsion system is known to be in development for the Cybertruck.

However, propellors are available for pickup trucks, they just don't work in the water.

A number of companies, including Bully, make novelty covers for hitch receivers that look like propellors and spin, but only as the air passes through them.

Of course, Musk does have some experience with amphibious vehicles. In 2013, he bought a Lotus Esprit-based submarine known as "Wet Nellie" that was used during the making of the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me" for nearly $1 million.

At the time, he said he was disappointed to learn that it was fixed in its submarine configuration and couldn't actually transform into a car, but that he would redesign it to be able to do that.

A decade later, a functional updated vehicle has yet to surface, but the Lotus does have another connection to the Cybertruck.

Musk has said the pickup's flat, sloping windshield and hood were inspired in part by the similarly shaped Esprit.

America is driving Southeast Asia into the arms of China and it's dangerous

The three of us recently traveled halfway around the world to better examine U.S. interests and economic pathways in a region that has garnered significant attention in the news lately.

Meeting and working with government and business leaders in Southeast Asia brought us face-to-face with a stark reality: U.S. influence has been eroded in a part of the world where we were once poised to hold sway, and China has moved in to play an increasingly dominant role. This must change.

Southeast Asia is diverse. The nations range from highly developed Singapore to rapidly developing Cambodia to deeply troubled Myanmar. Laos and Vietnam have not shed the vestiges of authoritarianism remaining from their communist days, and Thailand once again has fallen into functional military rule.

SINGAPORE PM-IN-WAITING: RECENT DECISIONS BY US, CHINA 'WILL LEAD US TO MORE DANGEROUS TERRITORY'

While we enjoyed a productive visit to Singapore, much of our focus was on Cambodia. These are two very different countries that delivered to us a consistent message: China is outmaneuvering the United States in this region with investments, loans, trade and exchanges. This is China’s backyard. It has natural advantages of geography, history and culture, and it has been cultivating this region for many years.

Our first impression was the people of Cambodia – their warmth, sincerity, and desire to advance on the world stage. The leaders in these countries told us they prefer a stronger American presence, which they see as a necessary counterweight to China.

CAMBODIAN ARTWORK LOOTED DURING KHMER ROUGE ERA RETURNED BY US AUTHORITIES

They respect and admire the United States. They follow trends in the United States. They send their children to study in the United States. They like the way American companies do business. However, they also told us that they will accept investment and trade from whomever offers it on favorable terms. Our allies in the region—including Japan, South Korea and Australia—are investing and trading there, but they cannot carry our interests.

The United States has many interests in this critical region, and they aren’t all economic. We want to foster greater freedom and openness, both in general principle and as a barrier against Chinese Marxist-Leninist influence. Vietnam and Laos have yet to move away from their communist past.

CHINA STILL BENEFITS FROM RUSSIA RELATIONSHIP, EVEN WITH INTERNATIONAL REPUTATION AT RISK: EXPERTS

Cambodia is emerging as a new nation and is advancing rapidly. Over the past 30 years, it has rebuilt its society from the ground up after the heartless genocide of their population.

The United States must work with these countries over the long term to develop and strengthen economic and political ties and to foster common values. Trade and investment open the door for greater influence and American democratic values that will translate into greater freedom and prosperity for them.

BOWING TO PUTIN'S ‘NUCLEAR BLACKMAIL’ WOULD LEAD CHINA TO INVADE TAIWAN: EX-NATO CHIEF

There are many opportunities for American business in Cambodia, including construction, manufacturing, food processing and other endeavors. We are equipped to meet Cambodia’s demand for energy, particularly cleaner generation offered by LNG and hydropower.

Cambodia is looking to take its place among advanced developing countries. More trade and investment will lead to prosperity and a greater chance to foster the kinds of freedoms that have been the basis of our strongest alliances for decades.

We can take several steps to start moving along this path. First, we need to reauthorize the importation of a broad range of qualified goods under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP). This is critical to opening the U.S. market to countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Cambodia needs better access to markets in the U.S., its second-largest trading partner.

The U.S. should move quickly to include Cambodia in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF).

CLICK HERE TO GET THE OPINION NEWSLETTER

This will tie it more closely to us and our most important allies and developing country partners in the Asia-Pacific region. IPEF can be a launch point for the United States to reenter the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, which features high-standards trade and market access chapters.

Unfortunately the Biden administration has a moratorium on new trade deals and the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) is a pipe dream unless the administration recognizes the role that Congress plays in setting trade policy.

We have the means to make Southeast Asia a key partnership region. This will lead to the expansion and adoption of U.S. values, including the rule of law, human rights, and upward economic mobility.

Free and fair trade, when done well, can lift people out of poverty and provide economic benefits for all countries involved. The U.S. can no longer afford to retreat from the international stage.

A clear presence in the heart of the Indo-Pacific will ensure U.S. interests are well positioned into the 21st Century.

Georgia K9 unit uncovers $172K of fentanyl in package shipped from California

A Georgia K9 deputy uncovered more than $172,000 worth of fentanyl tablets shipped from California.

The discovery, made during a routine check at a Gainesville package delivery hub last week, was the first package that has been found containing fentanyl in Hall County, located about 55 miles from Atlanta.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office and the Homeland Security Investigations Task Force seized the shipment of fentanyl tablets, which was worth approximately $172,500.

The check was conducted Thursday, with the use of an HCSO narcotics detection K9, the sheriff’s office said in a news release Friday, and shared a photo of the blue pills packaged in plastic.

The K9 was taking part in an open-air search of packages arriving at the delivery hub when he alerted on a package from California being shipped to Oakwood, the sheriff’s office said.

Drug agents found the fentanyl, weighing about 575 grams, in a package concealed inside the original box. The investigation into the identities of the sender and the recipient of the package continues.

HCSO and the HSI Task Force conduct routine checks with the cooperation of delivery businesses in the county in an attempt to intercept illegal and dangerous drugs before they make their way onto the streets of Hall and neighboring counties, the release said.

The biggest scandal in higher education is lowering the bar

When it comes to higher education, there is no shortage of scandals, but perhaps the biggest scandal is how colleges and universities drop academic standards to match the proficiency levels of today’s student population. When professors lower standards, we are diminishing the quality of education, cheapening our own profession, and betraying the core mission of academia — to transmit knowledge, foster critical thinking, and prepare students for the professional world that awaits them.

Recently, New York University announced that it would not be renewing Professor Maitland Jones Jr.’s contract. Professor Jones believes he was terminated after 82 of his 350 students signed a petition stating that the course was too difficult and that he was responsible for their failing grades.

According to the students, "a class with such a high percentage of withdrawals and low grades has failed to make students’ learning and well-being a priority." NYU’s decision reflects a growing body of evidence that students view professors as nothing more than customer service representatives, and they believe academic standards should be pushed aside to promote "equity" and placate a fragile student population. In Professor Jones's case, it appears that faculty are no longer in charge of their classrooms as the ever-growing number of administrators seek to usurp their authority.

While Professor Jones's case is highly disturbing, even more disturbing are the recent trends in education as a whole. A Wall Street Journal study found that at least one-third of college seniors were unable to develop a cohesive argument, identify quality evidence, and interpret data. The study also found that students graduating from prestigious universities have little to no improvement in their abilities to think critically.

FEMINIST WRITERS, PROFESSORS SOUND OFF ON FIRING OF NYU PROFESSOR, STATE OF ACADEMIA

Harvard Business Review found that universities and colleges are not prioritizing job skills and career readiness. Consider the timeframe from the 1940s to the mid-1990s; the average student GPA was 2.5. From the late-1990s to the present day, the average GPA is 3.1. If today’s students are less proficient than previous generations, how are they overperforming?

CLICK HERE TO GET THE OPINION NEWSLETTER

It would, however, be unfair to put this all on the backs of higher education institutions. While colleges and universities continue to enable the dumbing down of America, the problem stems from a failed K-12 education system. According to the U.S. Department of Education’s own assessment, only 37 percent of graduating high school seniors are academically prepared for college. Rather than focus on improving and meeting basic proficiency levels, K-12 and higher education institutions appear to have given up and dropped standards. It is proficiency levels like these that force incoming college students into remedial classes, which they earn no credits for and which have detrimental effects on student development.

The problem is becoming much worse due to the failed pandemic policies. Harvard University’s Center for Education Policy Research found that students in grades K-12 who attended class in person in 2020-2021 had a 20 percent decline in learning. Students that attended remotely in grades K-12 throughout the entire 2020-2021 school year had a 50 percent decline. Even though students did not learn the basic subject matter, they were still cycled through to the next grade, unprepared and forced to fall further behind.

How much more can we lower the standards before the entire house of cards comes crashing down? Education is no longer localized, and students are in a global competition. We constantly preach about how the students of today are the leaders of tomorrow, so why don’t we treat them as such? By setting such a low bar, we are doing a disservice to the students, the faculty, and academia.

Domestic shorthair cat rescued from Kuwait is up for adoption in Virginia: ‘Best companion ever’

One adorable cat has traveled a very long way to find his forever home.

Chaz, an all-white domestic shorthair cat, is currently up for adoption at King Street Cats in Alexandria, Virginia, after he was rescued in Kuwait.

As a small kitten, Chaz was picked on by other cats — as discovered by a caretaker.

ADORABLE BUFF TABBY IN NEED OF ADOPTION IN UTAH: ‘SUCH A SWEET GIRL’

Chaz was brought to King Street Cats after spending a year with a rescuer — and was declared to be positive for FIV — feline immunodeficiency virus.

(HIV infects only humans, while FIV infects only cats. But not all cats with FIV become clinically ill.)

Now, Chaz is two-and-a-half years old and needs a home.

He's a big, talkative boy with "lots of stories to tell," staff at King Street Cats told Fox News Digital.

RETRIEVER MIX IN CALIFORNIA RESCUED AFTER LEG INJURY IS LOOKING FOR A FOREVER HOME

The 18-pound cat loves to be petted, is curious about the world around him and loves to sleep with his humans, the staff also reported.

He does not enjoy being left alone, so a home where he can get lots of attention is best for him.

The rescue facility also suggested a home with an adult-only environment or with older children, since Chaz’s manners "aren’t always the best."

Chaz must be the only cat in the house, yet he will get along with an easygoing small dog.

"We know he would be the best companion ever if someone would just give him a chance," King Street Cats told Fox News Digital.

Jeffrey Dahmer attorney tapes heard in shocking Netflix doc: ‘A lot of reasons to tell this story today'

Joe Berlinger is certain Jeffrey Dahmer had a "death wish" when the serial killer requested to be moved to general population.

It was February 1992 when Dahmer arrived at Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, to serve 15 consecutive life sentences. His horrific crimes had drawn worldwide attention, and he was nicknamed the "Milwaukee Cannibal." Police officials decided to put Dahmer in protective custody out of concern that an inmate would attempt to make a name for himself by targeting the killer. But Dahmer was eventually moved out of his isolated cell.

"I can’t say he knew this was a way out for him," the Oscar-nominated filmmaker told Fox News Digital. "But I do think it was part of his decision-making. I do ultimately believe he felt remorseful for what he did. I know that goes against a lot of conventional thinking. People say that to be a serial killer, you can’t have empathy. But I do think he had a severe mental illness. He wasn’t insane in the legal definition of insanity, but obviously, anybody who is creating zombies and killing people to lie with them is mentally disturbed."

"I can’t say that he knew in three weeks that he would be killed," Berlinger shared. "But I do believe he was someone who didn’t resist it."

‘MONSTER’: JEFFREY DAHMER SURVIVOR NEVER RECOVERED AFTER HARROWING ESCAPE FROM KILLER, DEFENSE ATTORNEY SAYS

On Friday, Netflix released a new true-crime documentary by Berlinger titled "Conversations With a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes." It features rare recordings based on hours-long sit-downs between Dahmer and his defense lawyer, Wendy Patrickus. Viewers can hear Dahmer candidly describe his horrifying crimes in unsettling detail.

In the film, Patrickus described how stunned she was when Dahmer told her that he desired more freedom to move around with other inmates. Patrickus suspected the move would be fatal.

Prison officials moved Dahmer to a unit for inmates with emotional problems. At first, he seemingly kept to himself as he attended classes and performed work duties. But then he began taunting inmates with his morbid sense of humor involving food.

In 1994, Dahmer and inmate Jesse Anderson were cleaning bathrooms when they found themselves unattended for 20 minutes. Christopher Scarver, who was repulsed by Dahmer’s crimes, bludgeoned him to death. Dahmer was 34. Anderson was also killed.

JEFFREY DAHMER WITNESS SAYS SHE SAW 'A STREAK OF EVIL' WHILE TRYING TO RESCUE VICTIM FROM GRISLY FATE: DOC

"There’s a lot of reasons to tell this story today," Berlinger explained. "You have to remember that Netflix is a global platform, and it’s allowed me to tell this story in a responsible way. … Dahmer represents a phenomenon that is chillingly fascinating and important to present to a younger generation who may not be familiar with the stories. He appeared as a well-mannered guy and gave the appearance of being regular. But this is a lesson that cannot be repeated enough. Just because someone looks and acts a certain way, it doesn’t mean that you should trust them."

The premiere of this film is no coincidence. On Sept. 21, the streaming giant launched the Ryan Murphy limited series, "Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story." The show has racked up nearly 300 million hours during its second week on the streaming service, Deadline reported. Nearly 200 million hours were watched in its first week after it premiered. According to the outlet, "Dahmer" has become the ninth-most popular series on Netflix after only 12 days. It was seen by 56 million households in less than two weeks.

Berlinger has previously made two "Conversations" documentaries detailing the crimes of Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy. In 2019, he also directed "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile," which starred Zac Efron as Bundy.

There’s suspicion that there may be more victims out there today who were killed by Bundy and Gacy before they were executed. In Dahmer’s case, Berlinger believes that he was more matter-of-fact with his crimes.

JOHN WAYNE GACY'S VICTIMS CAN STILL BE IDENTIFIED, NETFLIX FILMMAKER SAYS: 'GAVE ME CHILLS'

"You know, there’s always that chance because obviously you’re relying on his recollections," Berlinger said. "And largely, the identifications [of his victims] were made through the horrible findings of body parts from his apartment. There’s always the chance, but I would say it’s far less likely than with some of the other serial killers. He owned up to it right away. What makes these tapes so extraordinary was how forthright he was in how he revealed what he did. He felt comfortable with Wendy Patrickus, who got more information out of him than the police did."

Dahmer, a sex offender, committed the rape, murder and dismemberment of 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Many of his later murders involved necrophilia, cannibalism and the preservation of body parts. Dahmer was convicted of 15 killings in Wisconsin. According to prosecutors, there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him with the 16th slaying. He also pleaded guilty to the Ohio murder of a hitchhiker in 1978.

The newfound attention surrounding Dahmer's case has been panned by some relatives of his victims. They’ve said such projects have been "retraumatizing" as they’ve been forced to relive the tragedies once more.

Berlinger said the goal of his documentary is to show how Patrickus, who is unknown by many today, helped serve justice.

"You know, we tend to have a patriarchal view of these stories," said Berlinger. "We should celebrate the woman, the young female lawyer on the team, the junior lawyer on the team, who actually obtained all of this information. I think retelling the story from that perspective was so important in the context of where we are in 2022. And it was in the manner in which she communicated with him. It was a very brave conversation for her to have. She projected an image of trustworthiness and candor to Dahmer that allowed him to open up. It was her particular mannerisms and how she handled the situation that allowed for these revelations to come out."

TED BUNDY’S TAPES REVEAL HIS DESIRE TO ‘POSSESS’ HIS VICTIMS DESPITE YEARNING TO ‘CLEAR HIS SOUL,’ SAYS DOC

"This genre gets a lot of criticism, but in the hands of responsible filmmakers, there are very good reasons to tell these stories," he said.

There’s also another lesson Berlinger hopes viewers will take away from the film.

"Maybe people out there will recognize their own struggles," he said. "Maybe it will prompt people to get help when they hear this story and understand some warning signs. … As a filmmaker, I feel good about putting out that message into the world. And … just because people look and act a certain way doesn’t mean you should implicitly trust them."

Florida homeowners hit hard by Hurricane Ian are desperate for help from Samaritan's Purse and others

Homeowners in southwest Florida who are continuing to grapple with the devastation or loss of their homes have been appealing in growing numbers for help from Samaritan's Purse, Fox News Digital is told by the organization.

Samaritan’s Purse, as of late Friday night, received more than 2,270 requests for help in just seven days, the organization shared with Fox News Digital.

The North Carolina-based international Christian relief and evangelism organization had already mobilized 1,100 volunteers from 26 states.

FRANKLIN GRAHAM TRAVELING TO SOUTHWEST FLORIDA TO HELP VICTIMS OF HURRICANE IAN

"And we have another 2,900 volunteers on the way," the organization told Fox News Digital via email late Friday night.

"How are you holding up?" Rev. Franklin Graham, CEO and president of Samaritan's Purse and of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, asked a Florida widow on Thursday, Oct. 6.

She escaped the floodwaters from Hurricane Ian by climbing into her attic.

"Minute by minute — I guess seconds at a time," the woman replied.

She rode out the storm for six hours in her attic, Samaritan's Purse learned and shared with Fox News Digital.

The wind tossed so much insulation around that her attic looked like a snowstorm.

Samaritan's Purse has been responding to Hurricane Ian's destruction in three separate locations in southwest Florida: Fort Myers, Englewood and Punta Gorda.

Said Rev. Graham while on the ground in Florida, "It's tough when you see people who have worked hard all their life and then lose everything they own."

He added, "Their memories, their furniture, their history, their livelihood — it's all gone and piled up on the street. It breaks your heart."

He also said, "What encourages you is seeing an army of volunteers at work. This is what God has called us to do."

Added Graham, "I want people to know that God hasn't forgotten them."

He said, "We all have storms in life and we need an anchor that we can hold onto and that anchor is Jesus Christ."

Hurricane Ian made landfall in south Florida last week as a category 4 hurricane — causing scores of people to lose everything.

Alex Berenson blasts Biden's move to pardon marijuana possession: 'Pure theater' to appease pro-weed liberals

Author Alex Berenson calls President Biden’s move to pardon all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession "pure theater" that is "meaningless" in the grand scheme of things.

The decision from the White House, seen as a move toward decriminalizing the drug, applies to those convicted of simple possession of marijuana, including those in the District of Columbia, according to senior officials. Berenson feels people familiar with his 2019 book "Tell Your Children: The Truth About Marijuana, Mental Illness, and Violence," which links marijuana use and mental illness, would be surprised that he isn’t mad over Biden’s decision.

"I don’t have a huge problem with this for a couple reasons, I mean, I don’t think anybody should be in prison for marijuana possession. That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t necessarily put people in prison for trafficking, or farming, but possession, I think there is a pretty clear consensus that you shouldn’t go to jail for that," Berenson told Fox News Digital.

BIDEN PARDONING ALL PRIOR FEDERAL OFFENSES OF SIMPLE MARIJUANA POSSESSION

"But more importantly, this is just pure theater… effectively it’s meaningless," Berenson continued. "It’s actually theater in a good way for those of us that don’t support full national legalization."

Berenson noted that many on the left assumed Biden would push national legalization, which has not happened, but the administration felt they had to throw the pro-legalization community a bone.

"He seems to have, personally, strong feelings about this," Berenson said. "He has basically indicated that he’s not going to allow legalization and I think this was essentially a sop to people in his administration who wanted to look good before the midterms."

The pardons will help people with simple marijuana possession convictions overcome obstacles to finding a job or renting a home, Biden said. However, Berenson feels that’s just another talking point designed to appease pro-marijuana Democrats.

"There is no one in federal prison, currently, for simple marijuana possession," Berenson said. "I think this is about the least he could possibly do."

DEMOCRATIC SENATORS HIT BIDEN FOR 'EXTRAORDINARILY DISAPPOINTING' STANCE ON MARIJUANA

Indeed, White House officials told The New York Times that "there are no people now serving time in federal prisons solely for marijuana possession."

"By the way, [Biden] didn’t extend it to trafficking, he didn’t do something that could have led to a meaningful number of people getting out of prison," Berenson said. "It’s theater, and to the extent that he’s making a policy decision, I don’t actually necessarily disagree with him."

In addition to the pardons, Biden urged governors to follow suit regarding state marijuana offenses and instructed Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra and Attorney General Merrick Garland to begin reviewing how marijuana is classified under federal drug laws.

BLOWING SMOKE: KELLYANNE CONWAY AND MARK PENN ON BIDEN'S WEED PARDON BEING 'TIMED FOR THE ELECTION'

MARIJUANA WITH HIGH THC LEVELS LINKED TO ADDICTION, PSYCHIATRIC ILLNESS, STUDY FINDS

Berenson has been an outspoken critic of marijuana for years and laid out in "Tell Your Children" why he believes support for the drug has been built on myths. He also feels marijuana has been "legalized in the worst possible way" in the states where it has already been legitimized because it’s often synonymous with medicine.

"It’s an intoxicant that people use to get high," he said. "We legalized it under false pretenses. We lied about its risks and in the years since we’ve legalized it there has been a huge upsurge in crime, nationally. Obviously that’s not all due to cannabis legalization but one of the promises of legalization was ‘this is gonna help cops focus on serious crime, and we’re going to see crime go down,’ but that is not what’s happened in the United States."

As a result, Berenson said legalization of has "been a disastrous experience already" and Biden’s push to appease pro-weed liberals isn’t going to help matters.

"It’s only getting worse," he said.

Ye won’t ‘compromise’ with Kim Kardashian over kids’ education, compares ex-wife to Marilyn Monroe

Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, is continuing to take a stand against ex-wife Kim Kardashian over their kids’ schooling.

In part two of Ye’s all-encompassing exclusive interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, which aired on Friday, he argued he's not willing to "compromise" his kid’s education.

"What they do is take all of the celebrities [kids] – the actors, the basketball players – and they throw them in this one school, and they indoctrinate the kids," Ye claimed on "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

Ye’s comments come on the heels of him discussing he was "biting my tongue" on his political views, since he thought it would be beneficial for his children.

YE SAYS IT 'DROVE ME CRAZY' TO NOT SAY HE LIKED TRUMP, VOWS 'I WILL EVENTUALLY BE PRESIDENT'

"My kids are going to a school that teaches Black kids a complicated Kwanzaa…they don't teach even Christmas itself," Ye said about his kid’s current school, Sierra Canyon.

The "Jesus Walks" rapper still suggest his kids go to Donda Academy – a new private Christian school that Ye created.

Teaching pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, Donda Academy is located in Simi Valley, California, and prides itself on preparing students to become "the next generation of leaders, thinkers and innovators." Parents reportedly need to sign a non-disclosure agreement before their children can attend.

KANYE WEST DEFENDS ‘WHITE LIVES MATTER’ SHIRTS, SLAMS LIBERALS WHO THREATENED, ASSAULTED MAGA HAT WEARERS

The "Famous" rapper continued to praise his kids during his interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson and noted he had to fight for his children’s schooling.

"My son, Psalm is brilliant…they are looking to figure out how to indoctrinate him to make him be another part of the system," Ye explained.

"I have a choir at my school…right now, we've come to a compromise, but I'm not finished because I don't compromise."

Kardashian and Ye came to an agreement that their four kids would attend Sierra Canyon full-time and then participate in after-school activities at Donda Academy.

However, Ye added that his son is already influenced by his current school system since he questioned why he must attend Donda Academy at all.

"I sat there with my son…and he said, ‘Why do I need to sing? I don't even go to your school.’ So imagine a 16-year-old version of that guy? The 26-year-old version of that guy where the father doesn't have say…of what the kids are watching, what the kids are wearing, what the kids are eating, who the kids are hanging out with."

KANYE WEST CALLS OUT KIM KARDASHIAN AND PETE DAVIDSON, TALKS LIZZO, ICE CUBE AND MORE

Ye and Kardashian share four kids together — North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.

During Ye’s Fox News interview, he compared his ex-wife to Marilyn Monroe and criticized the media for saying "she’s going to be single forever."

"Kim is like a hybrid. She is not just Marilyn Monroe…she is also a fashion person. She is a mom…an activist…a lawyer. She is a multi-billionaire. She is hot. She is one of the most beautiful people of all time," he told the Fox News anchor.

"When you see a headline that says Kim says, "Oh, I'm going to stay single forever." That's the indoctrination…they want this person to tell all the little girls out there that they need to be single forever."

As Iran protests continue, experts discuss the likelihood of regime change

Iranian protesters continue to confront the autocratic regime that rules over the vast Mideast country with chants of "death to the dictator," a slogan targeting the iron-fisted rule of the Islamic Republic’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The pressing question for many experts on Iran and veteran observers of Tehran is will the widespread demonstrations blanketing Iran end the regime that imposed a radical Islamic law system in the country after the 1979 revolution?

Iranians from all walks of life are now turning the tables with their calls for the dissolution of Khamenei’s regime.

After all, the "founding principle of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution was ‘Death to America,'" according to Clifford May, president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies who, as a New York Times reporter, covered the 1979 revolution.

AS IRAN TARGETS ATHLETES OVER MOUNTING PROTESTS, GROUP CALLS FOR FIFA TO BAN REGIME FROM WORLD CUP

The spark that ignited the mass protests was the morality police’s alleged torture and murder last month of 22-year-old Iranian-Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini for not complying with the nation’s dress code rule that a female’s hair be covered.

Contrary to the claim by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who told NPR in late September "there is a not going to be regime change in Iran," Iranian-American experts see potential for a transition to a post-Islamic Republic of Iran.

"While the regime has been more brazen than ever in their crackdowns against protesters, we've never seen the protesters as zealous as they've been this time around. The Achilles heel of this regime has always been its people. They know the only way they'll be toppled is by the people, the same way they came to power," said Lisa Daftari, an expert on Iran and editor-in-chief of The Foreign Desk.

"The Iranian people are telling the world that they're accepting the burden of taking down their government, but they need help. It will start not just with support from the podium, but will require the West, spearheaded by the U.S., to fully support the task of removing Iran's regime by placing crippling sanctions on the sectors that deal directly with Iran's regime, stepping away from the JCPOA negotiations which will give billions of dollars and political leverage to the mullahs and, lastly, providing strategic and organizational resources to Iran's protesters to be able to carry out this endeavor."

The JCPOA is an abbreviation for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the formal name for the Iran nuclear deal that the Biden administration is working to conclude with Tehran’s rulers.

The Iran atomic accord is shrouded in intense controversy because it, according to reports, will pump as much as $275 billion into Iran’s coffers during the first year of the deal, according to an FDD study, and merely impose a temporary restriction on Tehran’s capability to build a nuclear weapons device.

Both Democratic and Republican administrations have classified the Islamic Republic of Iran as the world’s worst state-sponsor of terrorism.

IRANIAN STUDENTS CLASH WITH POLICE AS DEADLY REGIME CRACKDOWN NEARS 20TH DAY

While Iran’s top diplomat, Amir-Abdollahian, continues to stress that the ubiquitous protest against the regime "is not a big deal," Mariam Memarsadeghi, a fellow for the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, told Fox News Digital, "The people of Iran have shown that they are capable of coming out into the streets in all large and small cities at once and occupying most parts of large cities simultaneously, too.

"Their unity is unprecedented since the 1979 revolution. So is their fury. People have brought down other totalitarian regimes through mass civil disobedience. The people of Iran are more than capable of doing the same."

IRAN'S SUPREME LEADER BREAKS SILENCE ON AMINI PROTESTS, BLAMES US FOLLOWING SUNDAY CLASH

Memarsadeghi urged, in a reference to the JCPOA talks, "for the world’s democracies to stop legitimizing those oppressing Iranian protesters by continuing to negotiate with them."

"The Iranian people are showing the way for regime change," she added. "They’re deploying a diversity of tactics that engage a broad cross-section of society with street protests and labor strikes as the two main drivers of the revolution."

While the Treasury Department sanctioned "Iran’s morality police for abuse and violence against Iranian women and the violation of the rights of peaceful Iranian protestors," in late September, Iran experts are seeking greater U.S. aid to the pro-democracy protesters across Iran.

"Now is the time for the West to put their money where their mouth is on a human rights-centric approach to politics and standing with the Iranian people," Behnam Ben Taleblu, a senior fellow and Iran expert at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told Fox News Digital. "Washington needs to not only support Iranian strikers, which will amplify street power, with a potential strike fund that can be sourced from confiscated Iranian assets and illicit exports but also needs to have a strategy that encourages elite defection."

He noted that other tactics to accelerate the protesters' activities include "ways to creatively send and secure hardware needed in Iran to make satellite internet a reality. The same goes for making sure Iranians have the capability to communicate with one another, particularly via mobile phone, in the case of the next internet blackout."

The clerical regime frequently pulls the plug on internet service to block communication among protesters and news to the international community.

Ben Taleblu stressed that the Biden administration "must drastically intensify the sanctions architecture against both regime elites and national level officials as well as the local commanders and political officials cracking down or calling for a crackdown against protesters."

The question, for many Iranian experts, is no longer will the clerical regime collapse but when. Memarsadeghi said democracies "should be investing now in strategic planning for the day after the regime falls."

College football Week 6 is at our doorstep, threatening to barge in like the Buckeyes in the end zone on basically every possession.

And now that we're halfway through the regular season, it's time to take stock on how and where we've shelled out cash supporting our football habit.

It's really that easy and so much fun. More importantly, it's free to play! And if you were wondering if people really do win, the answer is yes. Just last weekend, we gave away $1,000,000 of Terry Bradshaw's money!

And if you need a little help before you make your picks for this week's contest, we have you covered! Check out our predictions for these exciting Week 6 matchups.

No. 4 Michigan @ Indiana (12 p.m. ET Saturday, FOX)

With every week that passes, Jim Harbaugh is proving his Wolverines deserve to be in the College Football Playoff (CFP) conversation and that their semifinals appearance last season was not a fluke.

We hear you loud and clear, Coach.

Big Blue rolls into this game 5-0 straight-up (SU) and 3-2 against the spread (ATS). The squad also comes into this contest knowing that they own the series. Michigan leads Indiana all-time 60-10, including last year's 29-7 spanking.

Do the Hoosiers — the team that hasn't lost a home game this season — stand a chance against the Wolverines? To keep it close, yes. To win outright, no.

Michigan's not-so-secret weapon, running back Blake Corum, has already rushed for 611 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. And there won't be any stopping him this weekend when he and his squad head to Indy for the sixth stop on their national championship campaign.

Prediction:
Michigan by 7 to 9 points

No. 17 TCU @ No. 19 Kansas (12 p.m. ET Saturday, FS1)

TCU took Oklahoma to the woodshed and left every splinter where it hurts in Week 5. We all saw that 55-24 dismantling of the Sooners, and it was ugly.

The Horned Frogs will be out for more frog food when they face the Jayhawks this weekend. And it looks like Kansas might be just the snack TCU is hunting.

The Purple and White are No. 2 in the nation in both scoring offense and total offense. In the state of Texas, TCU is the only undefeated FBS program. The Frogs own the all-time series 25-9-4, and since TCU joined the Big 12 in 2012, the team is 9-1 against KU.

So Jayhawks, we see you with your 5-0 record and your 60% third-down conversion rate. But TCU has one of the best rushing attacks in the nation and one of the most efficient passing quarterbacks in Max Duggan.

Kansas, come talk to us when college basketball tips off.

Prediction:
TCU by 4 to 6 points

Texas @ Oklahoma (12 p.m. ET Saturday, ABC)

The Longhorns at 3-2 are not as average as their record suggests. In Week 2, they took No. 1 Alabama down to the wire in a game they lost 20-19. Their other loss was to Texas Tech in Week 4 when they fell 37-34. Texas is ready for battle, and the official snapback starts with Oklahoma this weekend.

At FOX Bet, away team Texas is favored by 7 points over OU, and we're siding with the oddsmakers on this one. We'll tell you why.

Oklahoma has allowed opponents 41 and 55 points in its last two losses. Considering the Sooners rank 94th in total defense, that certainly tracks. Texas' offense, on the other hand, ranks 20th in the nation, averaging 36.8 points per contest.

And since honesty is always the best policy, we're just gonna say it. We're still not convinced that Brent Venables is the right man for Oklahoma's head coaching job.

Prediction:
Texas by 14 to 17 points

No. 11 Utah @ No. 18 UCLA (3:30 p.m. ET Saturday, FOX)

UCLA is another one that made us look twice after the squad took down Washington in Week 5 by a final score of 40-32. In true Pac-12 fashion, it had all the makings of a Pac-12 After Dark thriller. But if you had asked us at the beginning of the season to predict the winner of this particular game, Utah would have been the easy answer.

Oh, how the tides have changed.

Like Kansas, the Bruins said they weren't waiting until basketball season to be relevant. UCLA completes 73.4% of its passes, and the passing game, led by QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, ranks fourth in the country.

When they're 4- to 6-point underdogs — like they are this weekend — the Bruins are 7-3 SU and 7-3 ATS since 2010. Also, UCLA has gotten the W in its last six home games. The last time that happened was during the 2017 season.

Hot tub time machine, anyone?

Utah, though, is as excellent as advertised. The Utes are averaging 42 points per game and are only allowing 155.4 passing yards per contest. The last time these two teams met was during the 2021 season, and Utah won that matchup at home 44-24.

This year, however, UCLA gets to play Hollywood host down in Southern California. And the Bruins do own this all-time series 11-8. Make that 12 after this weekend.

Prediction:
UCLA by 7 to 9

Washington State @ No. 6 USC (7:30 p.m. ET Saturday, FOX)

If you've heard it once, you've heard it 25,000 times. But this year could be the Year of the Trojan. The Renaissance of Troy. The Redemption of USC.

Call it whatever you want, but USC is back on the map. Thanks, Lincoln Riley.

At FOX Bet, the Trojans are 13-point favorites over Washington State in this one. And while we applaud Washington State for taking the trip to the Coliseum for some fun in the California sun, this game will be all about SC.

The Trojans are the only team in the country to force at least 15 turnovers through the first five weeks of play, their 42.2 points per game lead the Pac-12 and their one turnover is tied for fewest in the country.

One turnover in five weeks. Incredibly impressive.

If the Cougars are looking for some fun activities to make their trip worthwhile, we've heard the beaches are beautiful, and the street food is tasty.

Prediction:
USC by 10 to 13 points

Texas A&M @ No. 1 Alabama (8 p.m. ET Saturday, CBS)

Texas A&M beat Bama 41-38 in the regular season last year, which means these two teams have had this game circled in maroon and crimson for 12 months. There's always a price for poking the bear. And Nick Saban & Co., do not forget.

The Aggies aren't having the best year. They lost to Appalachian State in Week 2. Should we just stop right there? No shade to App State, but that loss, coupled with falling to Mississippi State last week, has effectively ended any CFP hopes A&M might have had.

Why so average, Aggies?

Well, they have the second-fewest passing yards in the SEC. They've only scored 109 points over five weeks, which is the worst in the conference. And the Aggies have only scored 14 TDs all season. That 14 is also tied for the fewest touchdowns — not in the conference but the entire FBS.

And just to give you a glimpse into the greatness that continues to be Alabama football, the Tide — as usual — are rolling.

No other squad in the nation has more 50+ plays from scrimmage than the Tide. The 236.4 yards they allow per game ranks fifth in the country. And they average 7.35 yards per carry, which is the best in the country.

Oh. And Saban is 26-2 against former assistants.

Go ahead and call it 27-2 come Saturday.

Prediction:
Alabama by 18 to 21 points

Illinois Rep. Sean Casten reveals teenage daughter died from cardiac arrhythmia

Illinois Rep. Sean Casten, a Democrat, announced Friday that his daughter's death in June was from a cardiac arrhythmia.

"This past June, our daughter, Gwen Casten, died of a sudden cardiac arrythmia. In layman’s terms, she was fine, and then her heart stopped," the Casten family wrote in a statement.

Gwen Casten, 17, died peacefully in her sleep in June after eating dinner with her parents and then going out with friends for a few hours.

The congressman said after his daughter's passing that she had been looking forward to starting her freshman year at the University of Vermont this fall.

ILLINOIS REP. SEAN CASTEN REVEALS NEW DETAILS ABOUT DAUGHTER'S DEATH: ‘IT WAS PEACEFUL’

The family said Gwen was a healthy teenager who ate well, exercised, received regular medical check-ups, did not suffer from any behavioral issues and was close with friends and family.

She was fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the family said in their statement.

"We are heartbroken, but we are not unique," the statement read. "Sudden, unexplained heart-failure among young, healthy people is rare but real. We are left grasping at the wrong end of random chance."

The family said they are grateful for the "outpouring of love" they have received over the past few months.

ILLINOIS CONGRESSMAN SEAN CASTEN ANNOUNCES DEATH OF HIS 17-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER

"We’ve cried again over each of your letters, messages, meals, and flowers, but they are appreciated. We are also grateful for the donations to the Downers Grove North Friends of Fine Arts and March for Our Lives, causes that Gwen was actively engaged in during high school. It is a comfort to know how many lives Gwen touched over her 17 years," the family wrote.

They recalled Gwen as having a big, beautiful, kind, loving heart.

"None of us know when our last heartbeat will come," the family wrote. "The best we can hope for is that when our loved ones do pass, we will have no regrets about the time we were lucky enough to share."

"So hug the folks you love a little harder today," they continued. "Be present in their lives. And spread your love a little farther. Because in the end, it’s all that remains."
